Lisbon, Portugal

Ohhhhhh I'm so behind. So so behind in the blogging. I'm in morocco right now but I'll get here eventually but for now you get to hear about Portugal adventures!!
I started off having doubts about Portugal, I had planned a field program called surf and yoga and the morning was disappointingly stormy. It was actually raining as I made my way to the bus. At this point I am just thinking that the best I can hope for is a full refund and to come back to the ship quickly. The field program pushes on however and within an hour we are at a beautiful beach on the Atlantic. It was windyyyy and still cloudy but the beach was amazing none the less.
Surfing conditions

They had us split into two groups, one for surfing first, the other for yoga first. Now at this point I am so scared and wondering what I have gotten myself into. Surfing is scary in the sun! For the first time at least.. Luckily they had an open bar at this beach. While on the bus Our surf instructor told us there was a unique bar in the beach. After wondering what this could mean wee get there and the bar is called Unik, lol, it wasn't so much unique but it was a bar!
I had decided to be brave and be in the first group!! A huge feat for me because I'm usually the scared one but this trip is about challenging yourself right?? Right! Half a bottle of wine helped. Hahahha. Liquid courage as we started to call it.
Anyways, we are given wetsuits which are very difficult to get into and led in a little warm up routine which included some stretches and a lap around the beach. Our instructor runs us through the basics. Which foot forward we feel most comfortable with, how to paddle, where to lie on the board, how to stand up, all that good stuff.
